William E. McDowell

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. McDowell joined Poplar Healthcare in 2006 and became the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer in 2008. With 20 years experience in the specialized laboratory industry, his past responsibilities have included senior positions in general management, sales, marketing, acquisitions, and managed care contracting.

At Esoterix, Mr. McDowell was the Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Sales and, earlier, the Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Oncology division. Prior to Esoterix, he was the Vice President of National Contracting at Ameripath, a company he joined via the acquisition of Inform DX. At Inform DX, he was the Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Mr. McDowell began his healthcare career at DIANON Systems, where he served in a variety of senior marketing and sales roles. Mr. McDowell is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and served as a Field Artillery officer in the U.S. Army.
